Napa Valley
Bounty Hunter-B, Cool place, great wine list, average bbq. As an American I feel like I know good bbq when I taste it, the presentation here was awesome, but as we all know presentation means very little when we are talking good bbq. I actually prefer my pulled pork bbq.
Celadon- B+, this restaurant is beautiful it sort of looks like how I would decorate my daughters nursery if I had hundreds of thousands of dollars to throw at it, I do not think that is a god thing though- very gendered decor of oppulent gold and celadon and lace, etc... Loved our dinner, both of us had the specials, but hated our table. If I am paying that much for dinner, I do not need to feel like I am part of the party next to us.
Gott's Roadside- A+, As someone who does not see all the hoopla in In and Out burger, this is the burger joint the CA should be famous for, amazing, hands down best burger I have ever had.
The Farmstead- A+, some restaurants that produce everything they serve leave something to be desired on their menu. This place is the exception, I had the beet salad with goat cheese crema, a dream meal, but we also had roasted figs wrapped in prosciutto with a gorgonzola filling and balsamic demi-glace, chicken dumpligs, organic burgers, and mussels. Love this place.
Oenotri- B+, I would give this place an A based solely on the amazing salumi platter we started our meal with but my meal left much to be desired so I cannot. This place claims to be traditional northern Italian cuisine, which I adore, and in general does a decent job, but serves pizza in more of a napoli style, and my entree was uch more Napa than Italy. It was a roasted fresh fig, pistacio salad, with fresh ricotta, could not get behind the preparation of the fresh figs, or the lack of flavor in my ricotta, salt anyone?
